Hello everyone we hope this post finds you well and easing out of lockdown! Here at Stanmer Organics our volunteer days are up and running again please check with each project for specifics regarding Covid guidelines and we are putting together our workshop plans for the year. We are completely full now so we have no plots available to rent at present but if you are interested your are very welcome to put your name on the waiting list.
Just us at Stanmerorganics gmail. With the January lockdown occuring many of the projects at Stanmer Organics will remain open for volunteering. We are complying with all the Government guidelines and will have risk assessments, insurance and social distancing guidelines and measures in place. For futher information please contact the project you are currently volunteering with or wish to volunteer with for clarification and guidance.
We are now reopening our application process for renting out plots at Stanmer Organics. We currently have 3 plots to rent out. Two horticultural plots and one plot suitable for a Crafts based project.
If you are interested in finding out more, includig size and cost, please our Coordinator at stanmerorganics gmail. Deadline for Love in stanmer is Friday 12th June We have had a lot of enquiries regarding whether we sell and deliver compost and unfortunately we do not. However there is a composting centre near us, Stanmer Composting Centre, who do sell compost. If you want to order compost please them on info brighton-compost. They deliver both organic and non-organic compost. They will deliver to you, delivery time is currently day wait.
You will need to order a minimum of 10 x 35litre bags. Unfortunately the recent lockdown has meant we have decided to postpone applications for our two plots until after lockdown has been lifted. We cannot realistically offer the support and advice that is needed to new applicants at this current time.
If you are interested in a plot and would like to be put on our waiting list you are very welcome to Catherine our Administrator at stanmerorganics gmail. Love in stanmer will contact you again once lockdown has ended and we are able to receive applications again. In response to the Coronavirus situation many of the projects at Stanmer Organics have decided to remain open for volunteering sessions for the foreseeable future.
It is clear that support with wellbeing is of real importance at this time and being out in nature is a real antidote to the situation we are faced with. Stanmer Organics can offer this support to our community. We have put rigorous interventions in place to keep everyone safe including physical distancing, regular handwashing, everyone bringing their own lunch and drinks and where possible to bring your own tools.
If you regularly volunteer with a project onsite it is worth checking with them directly to make sure they are still running sessions. If you are new to Stanmer Organics and would like to us please also contact the project you are interested in ing to make sure they will be open and able to accommodate you s of people onsite will be limited.
If you would like to speak to someone further please contact our Administrator Catherine on Stanmerorganics gmail. We currently have an Arts and Crafts plot available to rent at Stanmer Organics and a small fruit plot.
You will need to fill in an application form and small business plan outlining your project and the skills you have to deliver the work. You will also need to have the time to serve as a Director on the Board of Stanmer Organics, this includes a monthly meeting and some time set aside each month for s etc in addition to running your plot. Stanmer Organics currently has 3 horticultural plots of varying sizes available to rent and a small plot suitable for an Environmental Arts based project. If you have an idea for a conscientious small business or community group and have experience in horticulture preferably organic or environmental arts you are invited to make an application.
